God gifts each of us differently.

Understanding your spiritual gift helps you identify your unique strengths and contributions within a community, as written in Ephesians 4:11-12.  

By discovering your primary and secondary gifting, you can better understand how you naturally serve, lead, and support others, whether by pioneering new initiatives, speaking truth, sharing beliefs, nurturing personal growth, or teaching complex concepts. This self-awareness allows you to align your actions with your God-given purpose, grow spiritually, and make a meaningful impact in your community. Remember: Everyone has aspects of each gift, but most people have one or two dominant areas. Your gifting can develop over time, and all roles are equally valuable in the community. 
Score Ranges:

APEST Role Descriptions

APOSTLE

1 Corinthians 3:10 - "By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care."
The Apostle is a visionary and pioneer who establishes new spiritual and organisational foundations. They have a unique ability to see potential where others see obstacles, creating innovative pathways for ministry and mission.

Apostle Role Description:

  • Sees opportunities in challenges
  • Builds foundations for others

PROPHET

Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
The Prophet serves as a spiritual watchman, discerning deeper truths and calling people to accountability. They have a heightened sensitivity to spiritual and moral dynamics, often challenging existing structures to align with God's purposes.

Prophet Role Description:

  • Senses underlying issues
  • Advocates for change

EVANGELIST

2 Corinthians 5:20 - "We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God."
The Evangelist is a natural communicator who bridges the gap between different audiences and the message of Christ. They possess a unique ability to share beliefs compellingly and inspire others toward spiritual transformation.

Evangelist Role Description:

SHEPHERD

1 Peter 5:2-3 - "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."
The Shepherd is a compassionate caregiver who creates environments of safety, healing, and personal growth. They have a deep commitment to nurturing individuals through their spiritual journeys with patience and empathy.

Shepherd Role Description:
  • Nurtures personal growth
  • Creates safe spaces
  • Provides emotional support
  • Shows patience with process

TEACHER

2 Timothy 2:2 - "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."
The Teacher is a skilled communicator who breaks down complex spiritual concepts into understandable insights. They are committed to deep research, thorough understanding, and helping others grow in knowledge and wisdom.
