WHAT IS A DISCIPLE?

As a healthy redwood tree develops, it produces pinecones holding as many as 150 seeds—enough to multiply into a beautiful forest. The same is true for every disciple of Jesus. As we mature and grow in our faith, we will make disciples who make more disciples, leading to personal transformation,
generational family impact, and remarkable shifts in our community and nation.

Starting the disciple's growth path

We created these steps on the Disciple’s Growth Path as a guide to help you in your personal growth; however, you can enter the path at any point and move back and forth to engage in other steps when available. If you are new to Family Church or new to salvation, we recommend starting with Step 1 and proceeding down the path to the next step for your personal growth.

STEP 1: Discover Family Luncheon

Church campus staff and ministry team leaders, learn about

STEP 2: Foundations of Faith | Beliefs

During this 4-week class, you will learn about Family Church’s teachings on essentials of the Christian faith like God, sin, salvation, baptism, the Bible, and prayer. The group gathers weekly on Sunday mornings during one of our worship times. REGISTER for the next class.

STEP 3: join a serving or Mission Team

We encourage you to increase your sense of belonging within Family Church and develop deeper relationships by serving alongside volunteers trained and mobilized in ministry teams for weekend services and community outreach, or travel with experienced mission teams for
high-impact opportunities. SIGN UP to serve.

STEP 4: foundations of Faith | HABITS

This 4-week class on Sunday will take you deeper with an interactive group of fellow disciples, exploring 8 Habits of a Fully Devoted Christian at Family Church. Learn how the Holy Spirit gives gifts to every disciple of Jesus and equips you to
serve others effectively. REGISTER for the next class.

STEP 5: Join a Small Group

Grow in your walk with God intentionally through a smaller setting, where you learn from one another and build friendships. Wherever you are on your discipleship journey, we have a variety of small groups to meet you where you are, including sermon-based community groups, Bible studies,
prayer groups, and need-focused groups.

STEP 6: Foundations of Faith | Mission

During this 4-week class, you will receive an overview of how to be a disciple who can make disciples by walking through a chapter of The Real Jesus each week. After this course, you're welcome to continue growing and become a disciple who makes disciples. The group gathers weekly on Sunday mornings during one of our worship times. STEP 7: Make disciples

We coach and encourage disciple-makers to continue multiplying to their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generations. (2 Timothy 2:2) We embrace our commission from Christ to go and make disciples, teaching them to obey (along with us) all that Christ has commanded. (Matthew 28:18-20)

STEP 8: coach your disciples

As disciple makers reproduce, you coach and support them. Jesus ministered to everyone in the multitudes but relied upon the multipliers to reach the world with the gospel. We want to join Jesus today in seeing a disciple-making movement grow through us in North America and beyond.

STEP 9: Community transformation and church planting/revitalization

Our ultimate vision is to see communities on six continents transformed by the Good News of Jesus Christ. We hope to catalyze a network of disciple-making churches by planting new churches and revitalizing others in their mission field.
