Jesus said, "Therefore GO and MAKE disciples of all nations"

Matthew 28:19

The Bible is super clear that real disciples of Jesus Christ are going to do something more than going to church weekly.

Jesus said, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”(Acts 1:8)

Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”” (Matthew 28: 18-20)

At Family Church we try to keep things simple. We believe we should follow the teachings of Jesus and there is no need to add, or take away anything. Like Jesus, we have a passion and zeal for the lost and hurting in our world. We aim to take a different approach in reaching out and helping people. There are too many people that have become jaded because of a bad experience with the church or people who call themselves Christians. At Family Church we aim to build bridges instead of tearing them down.

We aim to take a different approach in reaching out and helping people encounter a real and living God. We stress cultural relevancy and utilize all medias and means to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our ministry called helping kenya kids

This ministry exists to bring hope into the most rural communities in Kenya! We partner with local communities, tribes, families, and governmental leaders to build "Hope Centers" in places that do not have access  to many of the things we take for granted in America. Here is how:
1. We build schools to help bring education to children who would otherwise not receive an education. Every day our 12 Hope Centers scatter around Kenya educate thousands of Kindergarten-8th grade students!
2. We provide food for the children at all Hope Centers. For many, this is their only meal of the day. During the pandemic we have provided food for entire communities!
3.We build health clinics to provide basic health needs for entire communities that have no access to medical care. In 2021 we built another medical clinic!
4. We teach farming skills to help provide for the future sustainability of the centers and the Kenyan people.
5. We put in clean water wells to provide clean water for communities.
6. We plant churches to minister to the spiritual needs of the community.
7. We build housing for teachers, administrators, students and pastoral staff.

What  Acts 1:8 Means

What Matthew 28: 18-20 Means

Jerusalem | Within the Walls of Grace:
The first place Jesus commanded His followers to go to is….nowhere! To stay right where they were. We believe this is the same place we should all start.

Judea | Local Community:
The next place Jesus commanded His followers to go to is….a place all around us. Reaching out to people at work, at home, at the store, at the gym, on the playground, on the sports field and so on. This is why you will find the people of Grace serving around our community.

Samaria | Different Cultures:
The third-place Jesus commanded His followers to go to is….to people from other cultures. This one is hard because it means loving people that are not like you or me. At Grace this means we get outside our four walls to minister in prisons, to people without a home, to people overcome by financial burdens, to people that live different lifestyles than we do. And we do not do it to change them to become like us, but to take the good news of Jesus to them.

Ends of the Earth | The World:
The last place Jesus commanded His followers to go to is…. into the entire world and present the good news. You will see Grace taking short-term missions trips to serve in other nations. That is also why we support missionaries around the world.

We know there is not one person who can do all of this. But we know we can all be involved in making it happen! That is why God launched the church. A church filled with people, with different gifts, when working together, accomplishing anything!
Go | It’s more than just Sunday:
Jesus commanded His Disciples to GO, not stay. A Disciple of Jesus is a person who is out in those places we see in Acts 1:8. We are on a mission everywhere God has us!

Make Disciples | We are called to reproduce:
Throughout Jesus’ life, we clearly see His call for His disciples to reproduce more disciples of Jesus (not themselves). We are all called to reproduce more disciples of Jesus; while that might sound intimidating it is the call Jesus gave us to do as we GO.

Baptize Them | Public Identification with Jesus:
Baptism is all about a public declaration of a person’s identity in Jesus Christ. This is one of the ways the disciple-makers of Jesus help people do that. Disciple-makers are called to baptize the men and women that have become disciples of Jesus.

Teach Them to Obey | Grow with each other:
Another part of being a disciple-maker of Jesus is teaching these new disciples everything in the Bible. I know, sounds like you need a Masters in Divinity; but you don’t! None of Jesus’ earlier followers had any sort of Bible degree; they had the Holy Spirit to guide them, just like we do! This means we walk alongside our disciples to help guide them.

Let us point out one last thing. Jesus wraps all of this up with this great promise, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Jesus is saying two things here. First, that if we do this He will always be with us, and why would we want to miss out on that promise! Secondly, this this call is to the end of time. That means this call was NOT just for the men who walked on earth with Jesus, but it is a call to you today!
